Indic Dialogue Hosts An Engaging Session with Indian Supreme Court Advocate and Author Mr. J Sai Deepak
Silicon Valley, California (March 2, 2024) – “You are paying the price of having ceded the Humanities space.” – Prominent Supreme Court Advocate and renowned author J Sai Deepak addressed a captivated audience of over 800 attendees at the India Community Center on Saturday, March 2. The event, hosted by Indic Dialogue, served as a platform for engaging dialogue and intellectual exchange.
Mr. J. Sai Deepak has authored best sellers on Indology and decoloniality such as India that is Bharat: Coloniality, Civilization, Constitution (2021) and India, Bharat, and Pakistan: The Constitutional Journey of a Sandwiched Civilization (2022).
The enthusiasm at the event was palpable from the outset, as the community welcomed Mr. Deepak. Attendees from all walks of life filled the venue, eager to learn and engage with the esteemed speaker. Mr. Deepak’s ability to connect with his audience resonated deeply, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present. Several community leaders and prominent people attended the event.
The event started with the unveiling of the trailer of CAST(E), an upcoming documentary produced by Indic Dialogue. The thought-provoking documentary addresses the prevailing fight over caste, which has been unfairly imposed upon the identities of Hindu Americans across California.
The speaker emphasized that anti-India narratives are often created by those who can not accept India’s rapid growth across all sectors. He believes that the key way to counter these narratives is to come together, stay rooted, share the values with the community, and ensure accurate and timely information about India.
Shri Sai Deepak’s dialogue with the youth in the audience resulted in an engaging discussion on various topics such as how to practice and share Indian cultural values, ways to give back to society, and the importance of responding to negative portrayals of India. Mr. Deepak’s positive and insightful leadership served as a strong reminder that the future of our community is in the hands of these thoughtful and enthusiastic young minds.
When it comes to what the Indian diaspora (NRIs) should contribute to India, Mr. Deepak stressed the point that NRIs need India more than India needs them because of the spiritual connection.
While responding to why he wrote a book when he should be fighting the court cases, Mr. Deepak said that while in court you address a symptom of the cause and not the root of the cause, the book had an effect that ten cases could not have had.
This event, hosted by Indic Dialogue, offered a fascinating look at J Sai Deepak’s perspectives on culture, politics, family, institutions, and the contemporary challenges faced by the Indian Diaspora.
